Money Saving TipsSaving money is everyone’s dream. We all want those extra few dollars saved up for a rainy day. When it comes to your utilities – and specifically, your water bill – it is so easy to save money. Honestly! Just a few adjustments to your everyday living can make a huge impact on your pocketbook.

Let’s Talk Tips for Saving That Green

When it comes to saving money, there are five tips that we suggest to anyone. They make a big difference for not a lot of effort.

  1. Consider installing low flow toilets if your old toilet needs to be replaced soon. This efficient toilet may cost more up front, but it will save you gallons later on. It’s worth the investment.
  2. Try a new showerhead in your bathroom. Most hardware stores offer a low flow or slowed pressure showerhead. This doesn’t deliver water from your pipes as quickly as you’re used to, but it still gets the job done and saves water while doing so!
  3. Talk to your family members about saving water. If you have children, make them aware that tightening sink faucets can save water. You might even turn it into a game, where if you see they’ve been consistently tightening the water faucet after each use, you could take them out for a play day as a reward.
  4. When watering your own lawn, hold yourself accountable to a timer. It’s a reality that we can all get distracted by our thoughts while watering our gardens, so that timer will remind you that ten minutes have passed and the watering job is done.
  5. Consider getting a rain barrel from a local grocery or hardware store. Collecting rainwater is super easy to do, and you can reuse that water in multiple ways. One example is washing your car. Rainwater works just as great as – and is cheaper than – hose water.

It’s Not Difficult!

These simple tips are easy to implement. If you’re concerned about the cost of transitioning to a greener life, we can assure you that it’ll pay off in the end. For more water conservation tips that help you save your green, contact the Lake Charles Roto Rooter team now! (337) 944-0108.
